How Should I Store Enovid (NOWONDER™), and Does It Need Refrigeration?

Store Enovid (NOWONDER™) at room temperature, between 5°C (41°F) and 40°C (104°F). Do not freeze it and do not refrigerate it. Position does not matter — upright or on its side is equally fine. Discard the sprayer on the “Best Used By” date printed on it, or 6 months after first opening, whichever comes first.

Room temperature means a fairly wide range

5°C to 40°C (41°F to 104°F) covers most indoor conditions comfortably. A drawer, a cupboard, a bedside table, a desk, a handbag — all fine. You do not need to think about it much.

The fridge is the exception worth stating plainly: do not. Refrigeration is not merely unnecessary here, it is outside the storage range. Nor should the sprayer be frozen.

Position does not matter

You can store it upright, lying flat, or in a bag where it ends up however it ends up. There is no orientation requirement for storage.

Do hold it upright when you are actually using it — that part matters and it is on the label. Between uses, it can sit any way it likes.

What to keep it away from

Direct sunlight and direct heat sources are the two to avoid: a windowsill, a car dashboard in summer, a shelf above a radiator. That is not about the product being delicate. It is that those spots run far hotter than the room they are in, and can push past 40°C without the room feeling hot at all.

Opened or unopened, the storage is the same

There is no separate rule for a bottle you have started using. Same conditions from the day it arrives to the day it is finished.

What changes on opening is the clock. Two dates apply and the earlier one wins: the “Best Used By” date printed on the sprayer, and 6 months from first opening. Open a bottle nine months before its printed date and the six-month mark is the one that matters.

Keep the carton

The printed dates are on the sprayer itself, so the bottle carries its own information — but keeping the carton is still worth it. It shields the sprayer from light and keeps the user guide with the product.
