New Study Confirms Nitric Oxide Nasal Spray Rapidly Inactivates Major Respiratory Viruses, Including H5N1 and Rhinovirus
By Udi Damari on Jan 18, 2026 0 CommentA groundbreaking study published this January (2026) in the journal Viruses has further solidified the role of Nitric Oxide Nasal Spray (NONS) as a powerful, broad-spectrum defense against respiratory infections.
While previous research focused heavily on SARS-CoV-2, this new data demonstrates that the nitric oxide-mediated mechanism effectively neutralizes a vast array of pathogens, including various strains of seasonal Flu, RSV, and even the common cold (Rhinovirus). Notably, the study showcased the spray’s effectiveness against H5N1 (Avian Flu), marking it as a vital tool for global pandemic preparedness.
The researchers found that the virucidal action is nearly instantaneous, with significant viral reduction occurring in as little as 15 seconds. This research reinforces the science behind the nitric=oxide nasal spray and its ability to provide a targeted, topical layer of protection that works regardless of viral evolution or mutation.
