Enovid is a nasal spray device intended for use as a protective mechanical and chemical barrier against viruses within the nasal cavity. A treatment consists of 2 sprays per nostril.
Enovid shields against viruses and should be administered before and after suspected exposure to viruses in high-risk environments (i.e. public transportation, healthcare settings, day care, shopping centers, sports events, airports etc.).
How to Use for Daily Protection
Enovid may be applied 2-3 times over the course of the day (two sprays per nostril each time), or up to 6 times a day following a suspected exposure to viruses.
How to Use After Potential Exposure
If you are experiencing any cold or flu like symptoms, we recommend using the spray more often; it can be safely used up to 6 treatments a day.
Directions for Use
Before you start using the sprayer for the first time, prime the sprayer by squirting it away from your body into the air several times until a constant spray is generated. The spray should produce a flow of liquid which is somewhere between droplets and a jet of liquid, that should "wash" the nasal cavity.
Blow your nose gently before using the spray.
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
Align the triangles on cap and bottle and pull the protective cap. Remove the safety clip.
Gently insert the bottle tip just into one nostril and press the other side of your nose with one finger to close off the other nostril.
Pump one spray into the nose.
Repeat in the other nostril.
Repeat in each nostril (for a total of 2 in each nostril).
Inhale gently through the nose while applying but do not inhale deeply.
Wipe the sprayer with a clean tissue to maintain hygiene.
You may feel some form of mild irritation, especially if your nasal membranes are already inflamed or irritated. This will subside quickly.
How many doses per bottle:
Each sprayer contains 25 ml which are around 200 doses of spray, or 50 administrations (about a month's supply).
Side Effects:
It is recommended that if you experience reactions such as headache, nosebleed, or a persistent nasal burning sensation (that is, continues for > 5 minutes after each administration or is not tolerated), to discontinue using the product immediately. If symptoms persist, consult your Healthcare Provider.
If you experience any health issues while using Enovid:
As per the Enovid User Guide, stop using the product and contact your Healthcare Provider (if necessary).
Why does my nose sting using Enovid sometimes and at other times it does not?
As with many products that affect the 'senses', one can expect some variability in nasal tolerability, from day to day (inter-day) and often within the same day (intra-day), depending on one's method of preparation before use and during use of the product.
Ingredients
Sodium chloride, Citric acid, HPMC, Sodium nitrite, Benzalkonium Chloride (the nitric oxide is formed during spraying).
The product does not contain steroids or graphene.
None are considered to be harmful.
Do not use this product if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients.
Who can use: Adults and children older than 12 years of age. Children under age 12 years, please consult a physician.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
Nitric Oxide Nasal Spray has not been studied in pregnant women. Currently, the product is contraindicated for use if pregnant or breastfeeding women. Consult a Healthcare Provider to discuss the possible benefits to the risks to the fetus/baby if the product is required. For those planning on becoming pregnant, no fertility studies have been performed.
Storage:
Store at room temperature. Do not freeze.
Discard the product at the earlier of the expiration date or 60 days after the first opening.
Does the product interfere with COVID tests:
SaNOtize has conducted non-interference testing and has concluded that the common PCR assays and antigen kits are not affected by the product. These tests do not specifically test for live viruses. Rather, they identify the presence of a virus, dead or alive, through the presence of structural virus spike protein or genetic material (RNA), at the time the test is performed. Much like fingerprints, the tests just demonstrate the presence of an individual (virus). If the product has been used and a nasal swab is tested immediately after dosing, although the virus is inactivated, it will still produce a positive test. Even if all of the virus is inactivated.
Drug - Drug Interactions:
General drug-drug interactions:
Due to the composition, local application, mechanical and physical-chemical mode of action, the product is unlikely to be absorbed systemically. No interactions are known or expected with oral or parenteral medications.
Nasal product interactions:
Separate administration by 2 hours before and after applying the product with other nasal products.
Interactions with live attenuated nasal vaccines (LAIV, FluMist Quadrivalent):
The co-administration of these products within the nasal cavity would be expected to inactivate live attenuated nasal vaccines. Do not use this product 1 day before and 7 days after receiving a live-attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV) administered intranasally.
Do not share the product with other people to avoid transmission of viruses or germs from person to person.
ENOVID can be used after other nasal products.
ENOVID is not a drug or a medicine. It does not cause drowsiness.
